Welcome to the Sigma Squared Society Slack
We have chapters from all over the world on here. Our aim is that each chapter can use it as their semi-private slack, and be able to dip into the conversations of other communities and see across different chapter channels.
General rules:
- Be kind, respectful and helpful. Give first.
- Do no self-promoting. Sigma is a space for community!
- Do not use “@Channel”.
- Read the channel descriptions before posting!
Some Slack-y tips for you:
- Make sure to properly update your profile so people know who you are.
- Change your display name to your first name and country code!
- Use the ‘What I do’ field to explain what company you work with, what your role is at Sigma Squared, e.g. fellow, executive
- Make sure that you are recognizable in your picture (animals are allowed)

Slack How-To
Since you’ve read so far I’m sure you’ll appreciate the following points. Feel free to copy and paste them to your company’s Slack.
- Please use the thread option as much as possible to keep channels on topic
- Use the 👀 to indicate you have seen this message
- Use the 🎉, 🚀, 🔥, 💪 or ❤️ to show your support for a message!
- Feel free to ignore any channels that are not specific to your community or country, or join them to have a look and if it's boring you can leave that channel again.
- You can also customise your notification per channel. Lastly and most importantly. You can create custom emojis for yourself and others to use on slack channels! (link).
